General Health and Safety

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is based largely upon the report of the Robens Committee on Safety and Health at Work 1972. The HASAWA placed responsibilities on employers and employees alike to maintain and improve standards to health, safety and welfare. Good health and safety standards rely on employers and employees working together to reduce risks and prevent accidents and ill health arising from work activities.
